The Rotary Club of West Cagayan de Oro recently celebrated its 41st charter anniversary in a simple ceremony at the Casa Real of The VIP Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
Living up to its vision of being a premier Rotary club, proactive in delivering excellent services, RC West CDO has served the community well all these years through its many projects which include the construction of two-classroom school buildings, scholarships for less fortunate but deserving students in high school and the annual “Search for the Most Outstanding Public School Teacher” award(MOPSTA) which gives recognition to teachers in public schools.
Other community projects include providing water catchment facilities to its RCCs in barangays Pagatpat and Balubal, conducting alternative livelihood system seminars, environmental projects like tree planting and feeding programs.
The club’s projects are supported by the RC West CDO Foundation who raises funds from the donations of members and supporters, partnerships with other through matching grants, the Inner Wheel Club and the hosting of the annual Oro Open Golf tournament.
The last forty years ha been a testament to the Rotary West Cagayan de Oro’s commitment to deliver service to our less fortunate brothers. [LAD]
