Davao Light & Power Company hosted a delegation of 33 graduating high school students from the Holy Child School of Davao last March.
The educational trip was part of the school’s Career Guidance Program designed to assist graduating students choose the right college course for them.
Engr. Virmel Dabon, manager of the power distribution utility’s Training Department, gave an overview of the company’s operations. Engr. Miguelito Rosaban Jr. of Power Systems Design Department later briefed the students on the basic steps on how to secure an electric service from the power firm.
After the lectures and corporate video presentation, the students were toured around the company facilities.
Through actual observation of the work processes, the students, especially those who want to take up electrical engineering, will have a better appreciation of the course they intend to pursue in the future.
