In response to the disaster that hit Davao City last June 28, Abreeza Mall together with Ayala Land Inc., quickly came to the aid of flood victims by donating relief goods through the city government. Almost P100,000-worth of goods in the form of rice, canned goods, noodles and clothing were turned over to Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio last July 2 for distribution to the victims. Last week’s flash flood was the worst calamity to hit the city in a long time, claiming 30 lives and displacing more than 12,000 families. To date, donations of relief goods are continuously being accepted at the Abreeza Mall Concierge Desks from mall merchants and customers.
To further ease the plight of the flood victims, a benefit concert entitled “ALAY SA KAPWA” was staged on July 7, 6:00 pm at the Abreeza Mall Activity Center. Spearheaded by Abreeza Mall, in partnership with the Davao City Mt. Apo Lions Club, the concert featured Davao artists who performed for free. The concert line-up included Pilipinas Got Talent Grand Finalist SKEIGHTS BAND, world-renowned singing group HIMIG SINGERS, USEP CHORALE, E8, MUSIKADEMY SCHOLARS, ST. JOSEPH CHORALE, SONGSPELL CHOIR and SININGTALA DANCE COMPANY. Donors brought donations in kind or cash during the event, which were turned over to the office of the City Social Services and Development.
