Suawan High School goes techie with new computers

The students and teachers of Suawan High School in Marilog district were in high spirits when the Antonio O. Floirendo Foundation, in cooperation with the DAVCO, IT and legal service department of Anflocor, turned over five computer units to the school last August 23. The computers are packed with anti-virus and malware protection along with a bundled set of Microsoft office applications for their school projects and office utility.
Teodora G. Amoy, Barangay captain of Suawan, said “Wala mi nagdahum nga kami matagaan. Daghan na mig nadu-olan apan ang Anflocor i (We didn’t imagine that we would be given [computers] by other sources, only the Anflocor has provided),” she said.
Joen Unilongo, representing lawyer Alan Roy Lopez of Anflocor’s legal service department supervised the turn-over, along with Russell Barrizo of AOFF, Rodrigo Cayanong, Suawan High School school-in-charge; Jaime delos Reyes, SGC chairman; and Kagawad Ireneo Calimpas, PTA president. The students flocked around the computers to scan and try out the available programs, some of them opening the Paint and Microsoft Word. Their smiles put forward their eagerness to embrace the new technology and looked forward to seeing the computers in their classrooms.
