ANFLOCOR Group of Companies Big Boss Tonyboy Floirendo with 2nd District Rep. Anton F. Lagdameo, Jr. & Provincial Liga ng mga Barangay President Vincent R. Floirendo are one in expressing their solid support for Filipino Boxing Pride Manny Pacquiao. This comes in the heels of Pacquiao’s upcoming mega fight with Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley on June 10, 2012 in Las Vegas Nevada, USA.
As a manifestation of their support, the trio shall be sponsoring fourteen (14) Free live via satellite showing venues in all the localities of Davao del Norte Province. All these venues shall be installed with cinema – style wide screens for the viewing pleasure of their constituents. The free shows shall be held at Brgy. Magugpo South Gym, Tagum City; Sagayen National HS Gym, Asuncion; Sto.Niño Elementary School Gym, Talaingod; Brgy. Limbaan Gym, New Corella; Brgy. Florida Gym, Kapalong; and Brgy. San Miguel Gym in the Municipality of San Isidro.
For the 2nd District, the Office of Rep. Lagdameo shall sponsor shows in ARF Covered Court, Brgy. New Pandan and Brgy. Manay Gym, both in Panabo City; the municipal gyms of the localities of Carmen, Braulio E. Dujali and Sto.Tomas; and in the Island Garden City of Samal, at Brgy. Villarica Gym, Samal Gym and Kaputian Gym.
Ms. Gene Rose Tecson, the congressman’s Chief of Staff and concurrently Team Manager of the Davao del Norte Barangay Una Boxing Team said that “this free live viewing sponsorship not only shows the unwavering and sincere support of the Floirendos and Lagdameos for Manny Pacquiao but more importantly, their fervent commitment to the development of grassroots amateur boxing in Davao del Norte.”
She added that “The Barangay Una Boxing Program founded by then Congressman Tonyboy Floirendo wants to convey a sincere message especially to the youth that hardwork and determination coupled with moral and spiritual guidance is a sure – win formula for a person’s success in life as epitomized by Pacquiao”.
The Barangay Una Boxing program, at present, is one of the country’s finest grassroots sports program. The program produced several elite international campaigners like 2012 London Olympics boxing campaigner Mark Anthony Barriga who hails from Panabo City and AIBA World Series of Boxing Mumbai Fighter Charly Suarez, a native of San Isidro, Davao del Norte.
