The City Government of Panabo has provided 47 units of desktop computers for 44 public elementary schools and three District Offices in the city.
Some 12 units of laptops were also distributed to 12 public secondary schools during the city hall employees’ Monday Convocation on May 28.
Mayor Jose L. Silvosa, Sr. together with Committee on Education Chairperson Hon. Jovito Glodo recognized five outstanding graduating students who were each awarded with bronze plaque, cash incentive worth P 5,000.
The awardees who will be listed in the Roll of Honorees of Panabo City were the following: Ellen Joy Cajes and Maria Dayanara Grecia from Maryknoll High of Panabo; and Frances Noreen Arellano, Jasper Nikko Estimada and Krizza Limas from Panabo National High School.
The distribution of computer units to schools and recognition of outstanding students aims to inspire students to study hard and enhance the teaching-learning process in schools through computers.
School administrators, teachers and students extended their gratitude to Mayor Silvosa for awarding the computer and laptop units, saying that this will augment the needs of other schools that have less computer units for the students.
