Free surgeries for the poor set Jan.28 to Feb.1, 2013

Here’s a golden opportunity for poor patients who wish to avail of free surgeries.
The Surgical Mission Team from Florida, USA, in cooperation with the City Government of General Santos headed by Mayor Darlene A. Custodio, the Mt. Matutum Lions Club and the City Hospital will be having free surgeries for the poor.
According to Ms. Bebe-I S. Gonzales, Surgical Mission Coordinator, the screening in now going on.
Those interested should look for Dr. Benjamin Pagarigan or Dr. Gabriel Fernandez at the General Santos City Hospital formerly District Hospital.
The screening aims to determine if the patient is qualified for the operation.
Surgeries include hernia, thyroid, gall bladder, parotid, breast, tumors and minor cases.
The schedule of actual operations will be from January 28 to February 1, 2013.  Operations will be performed at the General Santos City Hospital.
Gonzales added that this free surgeries is open for children and adults, however, the surgeries does not include operations for the eyes and brain.[CPIO/Ping Aponesto]
