Hedcor reaches out to orphans and children with cancer

For the second year running, Hedcor and the Aboitiz Foundation distributed gifts to children with cancer at the House of Hope in the Southern Philippines Medical Center.
The gifts consisted of toys, books and other essential items. “The gifts give the kids a reason to smile,” said Hedcor’s Rolando Pacquiao.
Hedcor also distributed gifts to children at three other orphanages, namely, the Field of Dreams and the Haven of Hope orphanages in Davao and the DSWD’s Reception and Studies Center for Children, an orphanage in Benguet.
Other than bestowing presents, members of the company’s Labor-Management Council also gave time to sing, read stories and play games with the children.
“It was a wonderful feeling to spend time with the children,” added Pacquiao.
Aside from helping its host communities, Hedcor has also gives to worthy causes like the orphanages and institutions for child cancer. Last year, the company also distributed gifts and gave support to the Green Meadows Home for the Aged at Riverside Calinan, Davao City.
Hedcor is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AboitizPower, specializing in run-of-river hydropower generation. The company generates a total of 155 MW of clean and renewable energy through its 19 run-of-river hydropower plants across the country.
