Philippine American General Insurance Company (Philam Life) Regional executives, employees and agents with their family members took time out for a whole day community service by participating in Brigada Eskwela teaming up with faculty and staff of Magallanes Elementary School. Rolling up their sleeves, the volunteers repaired, clean and repair the walls and fences of the school in preparation for the opening of the classes.
Leading the group are Ms. Jay Ledesma, FVP and Head of Sales for Philam Life Mindanao and MES Principal Evelyn Lawoglawog.
Lawoglawog expressed deep appreciation to the Philam Life team who along with their family members did an “excellent job in enhancing the image of the school by way of the colorful and vibrant repainting of the school’s wall and fences. For her part, Ledesma said that “This is how we take part on our social responsibility and living our Operating Principles in showing our care to our colleagues and to the community we serve.. We always love to be of service to our fellow men. Our company, Philam Life is committed in helping our country not just in improving the lives of Filipinos economically but to set an example of good deeds.”

The service rendered for the young students has been another testament to the commitment of Philam Life to better the lives of every Filipino and the community. This initiative was set to be an annual event when the company launched their first brigada eskwela program June of last year in Kapitan Tomas Elementary School which aims to provide service to local communities as means of pursuing corporate social responsibility.
The company plans on looking for better ways to give service and make a difference in the community. “Ikaw, ano’ng plano mo? Usap tayo”, is the firm’s trademark invitation the public. It is not only a sales statement but also the company’s commitment to help those who needs help.
