The Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. of the Aboitiz Group of Company vowed to construct more classrooms this year to help address the classroom deficiency in the country.
The foundation will build additional 40 classrooms in different parts of the country in partnership with Aklat, Gabay, Aruga Tungo sa Pag-angat at Pag-asa (AGAPP), Foundation which chaired by presidential sister Pinky Aquino-Abellada.
Aboitiz had built more than 30 classrooms in Mindanao along with Davao Light and Power Company, Hedcor hydro power, Therma Marine power barge and Therma South.Â
The foundation has turned over 134 classrooms in three years, which 14,000 children benefited on this. There are 42 classrooms in Luzon, 36 in Visayas, and 56 in Mindanao.Â
Sonny Carpio , foundation’s executive vice president said the foundation spent approximately Php26 million in 2013 to complete its commitment.Â
Carpio reported that in 2013, the foundation allotted Php234 million or 79% of its total budget for education projects.
