YMCA davao brings aids to fire victims in bucana
YMCA DAvAO visited the more than 30 displaced families after a fire gutted down their houses on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Purok 12-A in Barangay 76-A Bucana, Davao City.
On April 15, 2014, a 3-vehicle convoy loaded with 29 boxes of food stuffs, left YMCA Davao Headquarters and drove to Barangay 76-A , to meet with the fire victims of St John, Bucana, Davao City, whose houses were razed down.
While strengthening communities through youth developmenthp1 is our primordial goal, YMCA Davao must not loose sight that it is our duty as well to provide opportunites to our fellowmen and brothers who are in need of help.
Led by your Pres. Nonoy Villa-Abrille, the other officers who joined the turnover activity included Treas. Paciencio Rosalem Jr., Past Pres. Vicente Bañes Jr., Directors Henry Braceros, Reynaldo Sazon, General Secretary Sylvia Piedad and Staff Member Reynaldo Perez.
A joint effort of YMCA Davao and Don Cesareo Villa-Abrille Foundation, the donated food items consisted of 4 kilos rice, 5 cans Hollywood corn beef. 5 cans Argentina corn beef, 6 cans Mega sardines, 1 pack Alaska milk, 9 cans quick chow beef, 9 packs lucky me chickchow and 1 tie Great Taste coffee.
Bucana Homeowners Federation Pres. Nanette Macapundag, Kasilak II Pres. Lydia Tomada, United Strength homeowners Pres. Ruel “Tata” Gemarino, Past Presidents Baby Solante, and Cesar Tatad and other community leaders were among those who assisted YMCA Davao in identifying the fire victims. [By Frances Marian V.A.
