Davao Light Panabo Branch marks two decades of service to customers in Panabo City and the municipalities of Carmen, Dujali, and Sto. Tomas.
The Panabo Branch of the Aboitiz-owned Davao Light and Power Co. was established in September 1994 to cope with the growing demand for electricity in the northern part of its franchise.
Davao Light Panabo Branch said it iis grateful to have contributed to the upscale of the economies of these Davao del Norte areas.
Over the years, the growing economies have enticed more investors such as malls, hospitals, schools, manufacturing, and other industrial big companies to locate. Part of the decision to put up their business is the reliable supply of electricity.
Guided by Davao Light’s vision of “a responsible partner on the road to growth and development, essential to our community’s collective hope for a better life,” Davao Light Panabo actively engaged in CSR projects. To name a few, it has donated school buildings, computers and science laboratory equipment. It has distributed school bags and slippers to various schools and has conducted medical missions to various barangays.
Third party collecting agents in Dujali and in Malabog, Paquibato, and a full service center in Sto. Tomas were also established to bring Davao Light closer to its customers especially to those in the countryside.
One notable project of Davao Light Panabo is the Oplan ISAAC or Instant Site Application And Connection for customers in remote areas. With this, processing of application is done on site followed immediately by a meter installation for qualified applicants. Aside from this, Davao Light Panabo now also provides full-engineering services.
The managers who served the electric utility’s branch are Gil Buhian, who was an Accounting Manager before he took the position, was the first Panabo branch manager. In 1998, Ross Luga, who is now the AVP of the Reputation Management Department, replaced Buhian after his retirement. Arnold Arsolon, who is now the head of the Customer Services Group, took over the position in 2001 until 2010 and was followed by the current branch manager and AVP Engr. Reynold Felix.
The Panabo Branch’s strength is a very lean team of 21 employees that serves 57,344 customers to date.
