Davao City Water District has scheduled three sets of water service interruption affecting different city parts.
First is a 12-hour water cut from 8:00 PM of September 26 until 8:00 AM of September 27 affecting a portion of Davao-Cotabato Road (from Talomo Bridge to entrance of Gulfview Executive Homes including Coca-Cola Company); the entire Talomo Proper including ULHA Village, Benedictine Sisters Road, Manggahan Village, UUHSA Village, Sunnyville Subd., PLDT Subd., Josefina Village, Talomo Teachers Village I and II, AR Village, Blessed San Lorenzo Ruiz Subd., Talusa Village, Talomo Beach Side, New Washington Village, PNB Village, Mandaya-Talusa Village, Talomo Cemento, Paseo Solariega, Plantacion Solariega and Sto. Niño Village; and some areas in Bago Aplaya specifically Castro Village, Versari Village, Gulfview Executive Homes and Cartagena Compound.
DCWD said it needs to temporarily cut water supply in said areas to allow its Pipelines and Appurtenances Maintenance (PAMD) crew to repair the 450mm diameter Centrifugal Cast Iron pipe bridge crossing at Talomo Bridge near Coca-Cola Company.
Second water cut is scheduled for nine hours on September 27 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and will affect the entire Ubalde Village in Agdao. PAMD will realign the 100mm diameter Black Iron pipe at corner Lakandula St. in Ubalde Village and Jerome Extension in Agdao, thus the need for the water cut.
Both first and second water cuts are for preventive maintenance purposes.
Third is a one-hour water cut on September 28 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM affecting areas served by DCWD’s Tugbok Water Supply System particularly Tugbok, Mintal, Bago Oshiro, Catalunan Grande, Catalunan Pequeño, Bago Gallera, Sto. Niño and Tacunan and areas served by Calinan Water Supply System specifically portions of Riverside (Babad Compound, Upper Riverside and Purok 3); Calinan (San Roque Village, Francisca Village, Lanzona Village, Bagobo Village, Durian Village, Estrella Village, Pioneer Subdivision Homeowners Association, Hilario Subdivision Homeowners Association I and II, Datu Abing, Villafuerte, Calinan Proper, Buhawi Village, Fortune Village and Palarca Compound); Purok 8 Upper Calinan; Puroks 2, 4, 5 and 6 in Dacudao; and Purok 2-3A in Malagos.
The Davao Light and Power Company needs to temporarily cut power supply in Tugbok and Calinan for the scheduled maintenance works of National Grid Corporation of the Philippines’ Davao substation. Said power outage will affect some of DCWD’s facilities in the area, thus the water service interruption.
DCWD general manager Edwin V. Regalado advises would-be affected customers to store enough water prior to the scheduled water interruptions as water supply may be restored earlier if work goes smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise. He likewise asks for their understanding and cooperation.
