USeP adopts new academic calendar for 2016

The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) has approved the shift of the university’s academic calendar upon recommendation of the school’s academic and administrative councils.
This after the USeP Board of Regents decided to shift the new academic calendar during its meeting last March 18.
In a statement, the move went through consultations with the stakeholders of the University.
Beginning this school year, USeP will implement this academic calendar: first semester – August to December; second semester – January to May; and break: June and July.
The rationale behind the shift lies on the synchronization of the academic calendar with most of the universities abroad, specifically with the international academic partners of USeP. The shift of the academic calendar will solve the problem with semestral gaps with partner universities.
Guided by its vision “A premier University in the ASEAN Region”, the University seeks to deepen its worldwide engagement, thus, the university academic calendar adjustment was made.
The harmonization of the academic calendar with most of the schools in the ASEAN countries is just among the steps that USeP took in order to prepare for the full implementation of the ASEAN Integration. This shift is just the beginning as USeP continuously seeks ways and means in order to serve its clientele better.
USeP is also preparing for its ISO certification and accreditation from appropriate governing agencies to further comply with global standards and ensure the quality of education and graduates that the University produces each year.
Overall, USeP looks forward to more international partnerships that will help cultivate good experiences, impart best practices from first world universities, and understand culture differences in various countries, for its faculty and students, preparing them for the stiffer competition that comes along with the ASEAN Integration.
