63k+ Tagumenyos served in Hugpong Serbisyo fest

Now on its fourth instalment, the Hugpong Serbisyo Para Sa Tagumenyos Festival garnered an almost doubled number in the increase of beneficiaries of the health and social services offered by the City Government of Tagum and other private sectors.

With a 74.74% increase in number of beneficiaries compared to last year’s record of 36,503 recipients, this year’s Hugpong Serbisyo catered a total of 63,787 Tagumenyos who availed the free services brought by the Hugpong Serbisyo program.

This year’s Hugpong Serbisyo was launched on April 3, 2017, and started its operations on April 17 until May 25, 2017, bringing beneficial services closer to the people by conducting a whole-month caravan of free health and social services in each of the 23 barangays in Tagum City.

Volunteers from different LGU offices and the city’s private institutions organized the operations and participated in offering various health services, social services, and veterinary services, during the month-long festival.

A total of 38 services were offered by the Hugpong Serbisyo. These services include minor surgeries, dental services, optical services, circumcision, Pap smear, breast examination, random blood sampling, therapeutic massage, haircut, cosmetic services, legal consultation, civil registration, social welfare services, job matching, DFA referral/passport appointment, police clearance, barangay clearance, educational scholarship application, Hugpong Kabataan registration, feeding, libreng ice cream, agri-clinic, anti-rabies vaccination and castration of cats and dogs, among others.

Mayor Allan L. Rellon conceptualized the Hugpong Serbisyo Festival for the benefit of Tagumenyos from all 23 barangays of the city in catering them with the best of the city’s social and health services, most especially for those who are considered to be living below the poverty line.
