Davao City Water District advises that Dumoy Water Supply System will experience low water pressure to no water from 9:30PM of July 7, 2017 until 2:00AM of July 8, 2017. Affected areas are the entire Talomo, Ulas, left side portion of Diversion Road (from junction Bangkal to corner Catalunan Grande Road), Bangkal, Matina, Matina Aplaya, Ecoland, Ma-a, Langub, Bucana, Downtown, Bo. Obrero, Cabaguio, Agdao, Madapo, Marfori, San Rafael, Circumferential Road, Bacaca, J.P. Laurel Ave., Lanang, Bo. Pampanga, Angliongto/Mamay Road, and Sasa until Km. 12; some areas in Bago Aplaya (Gulf View Executive Homes, Versari Village, Castro Village, and Sto. Niño Village); some areas in Buhangin (from J.P Laurel Avenue to Tigatto Road including DDF Mandug, from Crossing Milan to Villa Park Subd., and from Ma-a Bridge to DPWH Panacan including Dumoy WSS connections in Ciudad de Esperanza, Camp Catitipan, AFP Mutual Homes, and Davao International Airport); and, some areas in Panacan (ICSAMA, Crystal Meadows, Tierra Verde Village, EMI Ville Homes, Empress Subd., Tierra Niño Village, PMPC Village, Landmark II and III, San Juan Village, and Vista Verde I and II).
This power interruption is due to Davao Light and Power Company’s preventive maintenance servicing on DCWD’s Talomo Booster Station on said dates. Although the power cut is shorter in duration, DCWD needs additional time for re-switching on of the affected facilities, pressure build-up, and line delivery, thus, the longer duration of water service interruption.
On behalf of the DCWD management, general manager Engr. Edwin V. Regalado asks for the understanding and cooperation of would-be affected customers. They are also advised to store enough water prior to the scheduled water interruption. Water supply may be restored earlier if work goes smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise.
In addition, Engr. Regalado explains that the low water pressure to no water experienced in Dumoy WSS on July 4, 2017 from 12:01AM to 2:00AM was caused by DLPC’s urgent power interruption needed to facilitate the normalization of Davao Light’s Davao Line 3, which in turn affected some production wells under Dumoy WSS. Water supply has normalized as of press time.
