Living up to its mantra of “Business with a Heart”, The Royal Mandaya Hotel staged its annual Brigada Eskwela as part of the hotel’s Emilio Escandor Community Outreach Program (EECOP) on June 2.
This year’s beneficiary school is Lampa Lapidan Elementary School in Buhangin District, Davao City. The school has a population of 203 comprised of students from Kinder 1 to Grade 6.
The Brigada Eskwela 2018 team was composed of The Royam Mandaya Hotel EECOP and Royal Mandaya Employees Credit Cooperative (RoMECCo).
“Every year we do this activity as part of our commitment to help marginalized communities. We are delighted to do our part in helping our communities thrive through the times and keeping kids in school,” said TRMH general manager Benjamen Banzon who headed the team.
Students of the school were given school supplies, clothes and footwear. The male students also availed of free haircut. Also part of the activity is a feeding program to both students and parents, painting of the school buildings and some repairs.
“We are sharing with this community the blessings and success of the hotel. This is also the legacy left by our hotel patriarch, the late Col. Emilio Escandor who always has a caring heart for the less privileged,” Banzon said.
