KASILAK HOMEOWNERS IN BUCANA HOLD CEREMONIAL DISTRIBUTION OF LAND TITLES

After many years, the KASILAK Homeowners Association Inc, Phase 1,  a beneficiary of the Community Mortgage Program of the Social Housing Finance Corporation, has finally accomplished the individualization of their land titles. 

Located at Purok 13, Barangay 76-A, Bucana, Davao City, Kasilak- I is among the 24 recognized homeowners associations inside the 68-hectare estate of the Heirs of Don Cesareo Villa-Abrille. 

Kasilak president Julieta Tuna gave her welcome address  whIle Weslie Capute, president of the Federation of Bucana Homeowners Association,  and Barangay Chair Rolando Trajera of Barangay 76-A, Bucana, delivered their opening messages during the thanksgiving and ceremonial distribution of Individual land titles on December 14, 2018 at KASILAK Gym, Bucana, Davao City. 

​Davao Manager Bea Pascual Ranada, and key officials Junard Amba, Pablo Gabi Jr. and Margo Babao of Social Housing Finance Corporation; Atty. Renan Lasala, representative of former Sec. Bong Go; 

Judith Bontia of the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor; Virgilio de los Reyes of Register of Deeds of Davao; and Jocelyn Tapic of the Office of Special Assistant  to the President were among those who graced the affair.

Landowners of the Bucana Estate Atty. Leoncio Villa-Abrille and Jesusita Villa-Abrille and Nancy Camporedondo, CMP project manager of Villa-Abrille Family, were also present in the said occasion.

Dam Vertido  of Mindanao Land Foundation; Kagawad Antonieta Apa; Romy Mandreza and Rex Salarde of PASHEICO; and the  presidents of various Bucana homeowners associations were also invited. In their respective messages, the invited speakers expressed their congratulations for the success of the association.

​Highlighting the day-long activity was the ceremonial distribution of the individual land titles to bona-fide member-beneficiaries who had fully paid their lot purchase loan with SHFC. The distribution of  the individual land titles was led by Davao SHFC Manager Ranada.

Ms. Ranada in her  inspirational message congratulated the association and also thanked the landowners for their generosity that has helped in addressing landlessness in the city. Ms. Ranada also thank the government agencies present and CMP Mobilizers who in one way or the other contributed to the success of KASILAK homeowners. 

In his message Atty. Leoncio Villa-Abrille lauded the officers and  members of the association as a whole for their efforts and cooperation that the association has gained thus far. He further challenged the other take-out homeowners and non-take-out associations that, similar to Kasilak, they may be inspired to work harder and focus in their goal for take-out and eventually the individualization of

titles of their respective associations.

​The occasion culminated with a fellowship dinner with the invited guests and members of the association. The  event ended with smiles and grateful hearts of the beneficiaries for the early  Christmas gift of having obtained their individualized land titles. By Romy Mandreza
