Canon has been bringing a complete collection of products to customers across the country through concept stores which offer the latest Canon cameras, single-function and multi-function printers, consumables and after-sales service.
Known for their unique branding, these concept stores have been established because some entrepreneurs have recognized the potential of partnering and investing with the imaging leader.
Entrepreneur Joel Pe opened the first Canon concept store on October 22, 2004, which took off instantly. Today, he has seven concept stores in Glorietta and Greenbelt in Makati City, Marquee Mall in Pampanga, SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, SM North EDSA, Trinoma in Quezon City and SM City Cebu.
Businessman William Sia, who has been selling cameras since 1980, is also a concept store owner with three branches in Robinson’s Ermita, SM Baguio and SM Megamall.
Business partners and brothers Charlie and Howard Paw invested in concept stores in V-Mall in San Juan and Bonifacio High Street in Taguig City. This year another entrepreneur, Avelino Relucio, opened his first branch at PC Gilmore in Quezon City.
Canon continues to extend its reach with the opening of the 17th concept store at the Abreeza Mall on J.P. Laurel Avenue, Davao City. This is the second concept store in the city. Owner Kelly Uy has been in the camera industry for over 20 years and four years in the concept store business.
He said he chose Abreeza Mall because of its good tenant mix not found in any other mall in Davao City. “Although we already have one at the Gaisano Mall of Davao, we believe Abreeza will cater to another market niche.”
This is Uy’s fourth Canon concept store. The first three are in Gaisano Mall in Davao City, Lim Ket Kai Mall in Cagayan de Oro City and SM City Bacolod. Dabawenyos will be delighted to know that this store will carry the same line-up of Canon products, supplementary accessories and promos available in Manila.
To celebrate the launch of Uy’s concept store in Abreeza Mall, he said customers who purchase a Digital IXUS 1000HS will get a free PIXMA MP258 printer.
Canon trade accounts officer Jet Hernandez said Canon is quickly gaining ground on the trade level, thanks to valuable partnerships with bold entrepreneurs. “If the steady growth in the past is any indication, Filipinos can look forward to seeing a Canon concept store in their neighborhood soon.”
Hernandez said concept stores are a holistic approach in strengthening brand visibility as an input-to-output imaging solution provider. “But more than that, they create an environment of shared knowledge and mutual partnership with customers and dealers alike.”
