DepEd, Hedcor ink MOA for school building donation

Hedcor, Inc. & Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Department of Education to construct a school building for Catalunan Pequeño National High School (CPNHS).
Catalunan Pequeño barangay officials, teachers and students of the school witnessed the signing of the MOA which signified the harmonious relationship with the community since Hedcor took over the operations of the Talomo plants in January 2005.
“Our school is very lucky to have Hedcor as our school-adopter,” said Evelyn Magno, school principal of CPNHS. “Through Hedcor’s support, our students are inspired to study harder,” Magno added.
After the signing of the MOA, Hedcor turned over computer units worth P105,000 to be set up in the school’s computer room and granted six top students their allowances.
“We have always been advocates of sustainable development. Through these projects, we help our host communities become sustainable,” declared Hedcor vice president Gregorio Jabonillo. “We are committed not only to paying taxes diligently to the government, but also in sharing what we have to the society,” he added.
Through the EPIRA, Hedcor was able to take ownership of the four run-of-river hydropower plants along the Talomo River which was formally turned over in January 2005.
The four plants, and the Hedcor-built hydropower plant in Calinan District, deliver 30 million kilowatt hours of clean energy to Davao annually. PR/Hedcor
