Outgoing presidential consultant for special projects, Madeline Dizon Marfori, lauded two executives of government line agencies here for having been nominated to the Civil Service Commission’s nationwide search for outstanding public officials and employees for 2010.
Marfori congratulated regional directors Jalilo Dela Torre of the Department of Labor and Employment and Ma. Lourdes Damaso-Lim of the National Economic Development Authority, during a meeting of executives and representatives of the region’s government line agencies which the former called for and presided over in the city last week.
Marfori informed the group that Dela Torre was the official nominee of DOLE for the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award, while Lim qualified for the CSC Pag-asa Award.
According to the CSC website, the Lingkod Bayan Award “shall be conferred on an individual, or group of individuals, for exceptional or extraordinary contributions resulting from an idea or performance that had nationwide impact on public interest, security and patrimony.”
The CSC Pag-asa Award, meanwhile, “shall be conferred on an individual, or group of individuals, for outstanding contribution/s resulting from an idea or performance that directly benefited more than one department of the government.”
The nominees for these two outstanding work performance awards will be evaluated based on the following criteria: noteworthiness of outstanding performance/contribution/s; impact of performance/achievement; reliability and effectiveness; consistency of performance; and demonstrated teamwork, cooperation, camaraderie and cohesiveness (for group/team nominee).
Should dela Torre be awarded the Lingkod Bayan Award, he shall “receive a gold gilded medallion and a plaque containing the citation and signature of the President of the Philippines, P100,000.00 cash reward and other forms of rewards and incentives provided for under Section 5 of Executive Order No. 508 entitled “Instituting the Lingkod Bayan Award as the Presidential Award for Outstanding Public Service” dated March 2, 1992.
For the CSC Pagasa Award, awardees “shall receive a gold gilded medallion, a plaque containing the citation and signature of the chairperson of the Civil Service Commission and P50,000.00 cash reward provided under Section 6 (b) of the Omnibus Rules Implementing Book V of Executive Order No. 292.” [PIA-XI/Carina L. Marfori, meanwhile, also recognized the provincial director of the Department of Science and Technology in Davao del Sur for being nominated as Best Provincial Science and Technology Director.
She praised Shirley Iguianon, provincial director of the National Commission on Indigenous People in Compostela Valley, for recently bagging the Gabriela Silang Award.
Marfori also mentioned NCIP regional director Roque Agton’s recent promotion to chairperson for Southern and Eastern Mindanao, while Fiber Industry Development Authority regional director Olympio Macarayan was promoted to director for Leyte .
The regional office of the National Food Authority bagged the Rice Fortification Award given by the local government unit of Davao City.
