THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is partnering with manufacturers and distributors of basic necessities and prime commodities to bring discounted products to various areas in the Davao region.
Tagged the “Diskwento Caravan”, it aims to provide consumers a relief from periodic rising fuel prices.
DTI 11 Regional Director Marizon S. Loreto said her office is encouraging more manufacturers and distributors to join the endeavor.
“As the name Diskwento Caravan suggests, DTI is tking the initiative to bring to different areas in the region a number of basic necessities and prime commodities. This will not only give us the chance to bring these goods closer to a larger number of consumers, but more importantly, this will give consumers the opportunity to buy discounted products in one place,” she said.
Among the items that will be sold at discounted rates are coffee, milk, detergentsoap and bars, shampoo, instant noodles, and canned goods like sardines, meat loaf/corned beef. School supplies shall will also be included in the items on sale.
On May 30 and 31, the Diskwento Caravan Team will visit the Sangguniang Panlungsod Building, Pichon St., Davao City. A re-run will also be made on December 1 and 2. On June 28, the team will be in Mati, Davao Oriental; June 30 in Digos City, Davao del Sur; July 7 in Carmen, Davao del Norte; and
anytime in October in Nabunturan, Compostela Valley Province.
Loreto urges manufacturers and distributors to join the team while encouraging consumers near the venue to avail of the opportunity.
