Trike’s fuel subsidy for release on May 31

The one-time P150.00 fuel subsidy here for each franchised tricycle operator under the Pantawid Pasada of President Benigno Aquino is set for distribution on May 31, 2011 at the Almendras gym from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Lawyer Tristan Dwight P. Domingo, chief of the transportation regulation division under the city legal office said the first batch of recipients are those tricycle operators coming from routes A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4, A-6, A-7, A-8, A-9, A-10, A-11, A-12, and A-14.
He said certain requirements are needed for each claim, like a valid or government-issued I.D. which may be a driver’s license, SSS ID, Voter’s ID, Postal ID, Philhealth ID, Passport, Voter’s ID, or TIN; original copy of the franchise issued by the city; original or photocopy of certificate of registration (CR) evidencing that franchised unit is “For Hire”, issued by the LTO; and original and updated official receipt (OR), also issued by the LTO.
“As far as practicable and to prevent any delay in claiming one’s subsidy, all recipients must personally come on the day as scheduled. If the claim is made through an agent or relative, a special power of attorney must be presented’, Domingo said. He added that the motor’s plate must already be yellow otherwise it will prevent the operator from claiming subsidy for being disqualified.
The Pantawid Pasada or the Public Transport Assistance Program (PTAP) is being implemented pursuant to E.O. 32, Series of 2011 issued by President Benigno Aquino DILG Secretary Jesse M. Robredo earlier said the government is set to release P 288,000.00 in fuel subsidy to 1,920 tricycle franchisees in Davao City. [CIO/Roldan G. Gorgonio]
