TESDA XI offers free assessment

More industry workers, trainers and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) can get certified for free as the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) 11 announces the conduct of the second National TVET Competency Assessment and Certification (NATCAC) Week. The program, which will run from August to November 2011, also caters to unemployed individuals.

A total of 3,024 candidates throughout Davao region are expected to benefit from these series of free assessment activities.

The first schedule is set on August 8-12, 2011 for the Agriculture/Food Processing sector which includes the qualifications in Aquaculture NC II, Animal Production NC II, Horticulture NC II, Rice Machinery Operations NC II, Food Processing NC II and Slaughtering NC II.

National Certificates (NCs) or Certificates of Competencies (COCs), as appropriate, will be issued to successful candidates which they can use in applying for jobs both local and overseas.

The NATCAC is a synchronized conduct of competency assessment and certification in identified key qualifications with critical skills and high industry demands. It aims to raise people’s awareness on the competency assessment and certification program of TESDA, enhance the competitiveness, productivity and self-esteem of certificated workers and ensure quality service in the companies where they are employed.

The first NATCAC Week was conducted on March 28-April 21, 2011 wherein 1,476 individuals availed of the program.

Interested applicants may submit the duly accomplished application form and three passport-sized pictures (in white background) to the nearest TESDA offices.
