150th Canada Day in Davao City

The 150th Canada Day in Davao City was celebrated on June 23, 2017 with a Dinner Reception at SEDA ABREEZA, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines’ Hotel Partner for this event.

CanCham President Julian H. Payne in his Welcome Address mentioned that “The Filipinos have changed the face of Canada and the event today is a token of our presence in Davao”.

Whilst H.E. Ambassador John Holmes, Ambassador of Canada to the Philippines on a video message said “More than 700-thousand Canadians with Filipino origins have done so much to strengthen the ties between our countries.”

Cultural Dances were performed by Madayaw Kultural Dancers of the City Government of Davao and Sinag Tala Cultural Dancers from John Paul II College of Davao.

The occasion was graced by Officers  & Members of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines – Davao Chapter.  MANULIFE PHILIPPINES and ANFLOCOR attended by CEO Alex Valoria as the major sponsor of the event.  Joji Ilagan Bian & Nicole Hao Bian of ICHEF to have sponsored the 150th Canada Day Cake.

DCIPC Head Lemuel Ortonio; DFA-Mindanao Officer In-Charge Ebrahim Zailon; Japanese Consul Tomoko Dodo; Councilors Bernard Al-ag and Maria Belen Acosta; Holy Cross of Davao College President Rev. Msgr. Julius Rodulfa; Davao Doctors Hospital President & CEO Raymund Del Val amongst those invited guests joined the celebrations.
