Halloween in the Philippines has slowly becoming one of the most festive and exciting holidays to date. From costume parties to horror laden events for the family, it truly is fun to experience halloween in the Philippines.
For its second year, Malagos Garden Resort again traded its festive and colorful facade with an eerie looking, dark ambiance that gave the participants a scare in an instant. Mga Handuraw sa Baul 2017 highlighted the many beautiful Philippine night creatures with music, food, movies and mythology.
A number of participants also came in their most gruesome and halloween themed costume. Big and exciting prizes were given to the winners.
The once lively vast field was converted into a gravestone with the trees decked with Filipino mythical creatures to make the experience more memorable. A number of food stalls that featured local dishes, award-winning Malagos chocolates, fruits and creepy sweet desserts were made available for everyone to enjoy. From creepy looking eclairs to cyclops decorated cupcakes and caramel coated apples — the night turned into a delish eerie night to remember.
Aside from the food, merch were also sold and a calligraphy stall was also present. Nonetheless, one of the highlights of night was the haunted horror house that made everyone scream their lungs out. The haunted horror house revolved around the story of a group of friends who got lost along the way. And the rest is history — or so they say.
Mga Handuraw sa Baul 2017 featured Manila-based indie acts such as CRWN, Jess Connelly, Jensen and the Flips, She’s Only Sixteen and Clara Benin and talented local Davao artists provided the music that night.
