URBANISSMO: Christmas made COlorful

urbanissmo by kenneth irving ongThe Park Inn by Radisson Hotel Davao unveiled its Christmas colors last November 16 in a colorful yet meaningful ceremony. True to the hotel’s slogan of giving guests colorful stays, Park Inn by Radisson Hotel Davao went with the brand’s iconic colors in decorating its lobby as well as its Christmas tree.

The event was attended by the hotel’s corporate clients, in-house guests, SM mall officers and managers, as well as officials from the Davao City government, the Department of Tourism regional office, and the consular corps.

In her welcoming address, hotel manager Ms. Emelyn Mauhay-Rosales notes that  it has been four years since the traditional Christmas lighting began and every time, there is a special feeling whenever the ceremonial button is pressed.

“The sight of those lights and the wonderful colors send a new spirit of love, hope, and joy through the hearts of all of us. This lighting also symbolizes our expression of optimism and prayers for love and peace for our families, friends and our communities.” said Emelyn.

“I have always believed that the message of Christmas is one of hope and bliss. Christmas is a time for sharing our blessings and for gratitude for all that we receive each day, and as we reach out to family and friends, I hope we’ll also open our hearts to those who are lonely and in need, people who are less fortunate than ourselves.” she added.

That evening, children from “Love the Children Foundation” were present to share in the festivities. They are Park Inn by Radisson Davao’s beneficiary and to spread Christmas cheers to everyone. Also new for this year, the hotel is also taking part in the the SM Cares’ Bears of Joy campaign where for every bear that you buy, the other one is left for donation. All collected toy bears will be donated to SM Prime’s chosen beneficiaries.

Aside from free-flowing food and wine, the lobby was filled with beautiful voices courtesy of the Harmonica Polifonica Chorale of the University of Southeastern Philippines making the evening one to be remembered.
