“Air connectivity is a major component in strengthening tourism, business, and foreign relations as it creates more direct people to people linkages and as part of our ASEAN community we are excited for this new route to not only bring our two cities closer but also Mindanao and its industries to our Malaysian neighbours and vice versa.” she added.

The new route signifies the third direct route from Malaysia to the Philippines after Manila and Cebu. AirAsia also connects guests to other cities in the Philippines including Clark, Manila, Caticlan, Kalibo, Tacloban, Palawan, Cebu and Tagbilaran.
