Despite the challenges and extended declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao, GoHotels posits an influx of occupancy for 2018.
“We are better in 2018”, said Robinsons Hotels and Resorts assistant marketing manager Jacquelyn T. Lim.
Chain of budget hotels in the Philippines, GoHotels is the budget hotel brand of the Gokongwei’s Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC). Opening its first branch in 2010 in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila, it has since opened other branches across the archipelago. They also have branches in Osaka, Kyoto and Shinsaubashi in Japan in partnership with Karaksa Hotel.
After the declaration of Martial Law, many guests were quick to reschedule their bookings and test the waters first. This verily affected the hotels occupancy rate for the first three months of last year.
Fear and safety being a factor on the decline, GoHotels Lanang Davao Branch Head Mariel Mahipus was quick to point out that, “Since the start of 2018, guests, who rescheduled their stay, have started to fill the rooms”. Adding, “We can see an increase in corporate and Free Independent Travelers (FITs).” True enough, 2018 proves to be on GoHotel’s side.
On one note, the numerous up and coming events in the city added another factor. Case in point, the much-awaited Alveo Ironman 70.3 Davao and other exciting events in the city.
“There was an initial hesitation from our guests especially when Martial Law was declared but after they have seen how safe Davao remains, they’re now confident and even felt safer to be here,” said Robinsons Hotels and Resorts assistant marketing manager Jacquelyn T. Lim.
For 2018, a new GoHotel branch is set to open in Iligan. With lack of good, quality accommodations, GoHotels took upon itself to address such concern and deliver what the people of Iligan truly needs.
Their 3rd branch in Mindanao, it has 100 rooms and function rooms to cater to events and seminars. Target date of completion is during the first half of the year. GoHotel Iligan is located beside the Robinson’s Mall.
More so, this year, GoHotel goes to the North and expands in Northern Luzon — Tuguegarao and Naga, to be exact.
GoHotels is located at Bacolod and Dumaguete, Butuan, Ortigas Center and Otis-Manila, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, Tacloban, Lanang-Davao, Manila Airport Road, North Edsa-Quezon City, Cubao-Quezon City, Ermita-Manila and Timog- Quezon City.
GoHotels Davao is a joint venture between Robinson’s Land and Udenna Development Corporation.
