Create something great today

Food is something you can do; something you can create. One does not need to be a chef or have a culinary background to cook — all it takes is your imagination and ability to use the stove. Or the oven. And you are good to go.

Last 12 October, Friday, Chef Baker Johnlu Koa, renowned French Baker chain founder, came to Davao and had a most interactive live cooking demo to the delight of those who opted to spend their Friday afternoon at the SM City Davao Activity Annex Centre.

Chef Baker Johnlu Koa is also the brains behind Lartizan, Qwikbread, The French Baker Salon de The and Chatime.

His repertoire? Easy, sumptuous treats using the French Baker delish over the counter items and Tefal small domestic appliances such as the plancha compact, chopper, sandwich maker, food processor and bread toaster.

Tefal, world leader in major innovations and world-class service, has been brining joy and comfort into the lives of people all over the world. From linen to home to cooking and food and drink preparations, Tefal truly redefines living in this advance era.

Aside from his recipes, Chef Koa was generous enough to impart culinary trade secrets that many found useful. Throughout the event, the renowned chef showed and wowed the audience as he demonstrated his recipes one by one. Truly, seeing them prepared right in front you gives you that foodie high that makes you want to get inside the kitchen and start creating dishes.

Not only that, Chef Koa and Tefal made some lucky audience members to join him on stage. More so, all throughout the event, Tefal and the French Baker gave away loot bags and small domestic appliances to the audiences.

Some of his dishes included Salami Toasties, Tortilla Chips with Tzatziki and Hummus (all made from scratch), Bahn Mi using French Baker’s Asian baguette, Chicken Lollipop with Chipotle Mayo and Mozzarella Sticks wherein he used the French Baker low sugar crumbs, Grilled Vegetable sandwich and Salad with Citrus Vinaigrette using their Sourdough croutons.

As an added treat, Chef Koa also shared his recipe for that oozing homemade, restaurant grade lechon sauce.

The event was made in time for the celebration of World Bread Day (16 October).

The French Baker is located at the atrium and fronting the fountain of SM Lanang and at the SM City Annex.
