There was no shortage of New Year’s Eve parties in the city to usher in the New Year. And Davao’s beachfront gateway, Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao, it certainly was a good place to be.
Glittering disco balls, geometrics and greenery ushered the New Year at the Garden Pavilion where dining, drinking and more dancing made a perfect toast to the year that was. The scenery was a perfect welcome to the year that is. Welcome, 2019!
Styled “Glitz in Green to 2019”, the anticipated year-end countdown had everyone on a holiday high with stage performances by Meet Febie and Music Authority Davao playing the best hits thru the decades: from the classic 70s to the modern 90s, everyone was in high spirit.
Exciting prizes were given away including gift certificates for overnight stays in premier hotels and resorts: Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, Eden Nature Park and Resort, Pearl Farm Beach Resort and Club Samal Resort; dining vouchers at Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao and Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino; and a round trip ticket from Davao – Singapore-Davao via SilkAir Singapore Airlines.
What was even a greater highlight were the variety of choices and tasteful selections served at the event — with a nine-station cocktail buffet and new Executive Chef Anthony Joseph Ante III at the helm of the festive holiday menus, the night saw a wide range of flavours and tastes as everyone danced, drunk and kissed in 2019.
Prior to the decked out party, a thanksgiving mass was hosted while Café Uno offered a Media Noche dinner buffet.
The dinner buffet included party favours, heavy cocktails, complimentary drinks and access to the special bar menu for a price of Php2,019 nett.
Indeed, it looks like 2018 got the farewell it deserved. And as we say hello to a new and exciting year, what matters most is that you start it right. Cheers to a New Year! Cheers to 2019!
