Even when it literally rained cats and dogs, no one was afraid to get wet as the Marco Polo Davao held its much-awaited Pool Party last August 31 to cap off Kadayawan month with a splash.
“This signature event will be Marco Polo Davao’s statement that Davao will remain resilient and cheerful despite any weather and challenges it may face”, said Marco Polo General Manager Colin Healy.
And what a party it was!
Guests danced to the summer beats of Sikat Entertainment’s DJ Travis Monsod and DJ Wacky Masbad. Each set was filled with club music I can relate, dance, and eventually dive into the pool to. From the many guests who also took to the pool with a splash, I can say they gave their sign of approval too.
Mindanaoan-inspired party chow and cocktails made by the Marco Polo Davao’s culinary team led by Executive Chef Alex Destriza and RBE Manager Rene Gargallo were passed around, and so were beer by Heineken and Tiger. For those who wanted a stronger kick, there were cold bottles of Smirnoff Mule.
Aside from the eating, drinking and splashing about, there were also various party games and I was one of the lucky ones who went home with a limited edition Marco Polo Bluetooth speaker.
The Pool Party climaxed with a dance number by the hotel’s associates ending with a massive jump into the pool.
The successful event was supported by Johnny Walker, Belvedere Vodka, Cimem Wines, Global Noble International, Smirnoff Mule, Heineken and Summit Water.
