The provincial government of Compostela Valley has expressed readiness to celebrate its 11th Bulawan (Growing Green for Good Governance) Festival and 20th founding anniversary that will be celebrated by the province on March 4 to 8, 2018
Christine Dompur, Provincial Tourism Officer said various activities have been lined up for this year’s Bulawan Festival which will start on March 4 (Sunday) and culminate on March 8 (Thursday).
The festival, according to Dompur, will serve as the province’s thanksgiving to its stakeholders. “This is a way of thanking everyone and showcasing the beauty of Comval.”
A Fun Run and Duathlon in the province will kick off the celebration.
Dompur said that this year’s celebration will be “bigger” with the 2nd Bulawan Shootfest by the Comval AFP-PNP proficiency firing and ‘Retrato’, a photo contest 2018 as one of the highlights of the festival.
“The festival will also feature the search for the Bulawan Queen, and the unveiling of Comval at 20 Coffeetable book entitled: Pyagsugpatan Comval: Unity and Limitless Possibilities,” She said.
ComValenyos could also expect artists to come to the province such as Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Jason Dy, Klarisse De Guzman, Jona Viray, TJ Monterde, and Jaya.
Dompur said they are expecting around 5000 tourists especially on the nightly events, specifically coming from the province and its neighboring areas such as Davao del Norte and Davao Oriental.
On March 8, there will be a Foundation day were there will be awarded as ‘Governor’s Awards for Excellence’ and the 2nd Governors Cup Basketball League were the placers are Comval Tricycle Drivers and a unity night concert which will also serve as an appreciation event for the stakeholders of the provincial government it will end with a fireworks display.
