MOA Allotting Wards for Policemen Inked

Davao City Police Office represented by PSSUPT Alexander C Tagum, City Director signed a Memorandum of Agreement  (MOA)together with Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) represented by Dr. Audian on behalf of Dr. Leopoldo Vega, Medical Center Chief (SPMC); Department of Surgery represented by its Director, Dr. Mark Edward Maruya; Toyota Davao City, Inc (TCDI) represented by Boyet Lim, president of Toyota Davao on June 4, Monday.

In the said MOA, the parties entered upon the following obligations:

SPMC will provide the location and space of DCPO’s ward composed of two separate rooms with a total capacity of six beds inside the hospital premises; and may increase the bed capacity of the DCPO ward as the need arises;

The Department of Surgery will provide quality surgical services to patients; administer the management of patient
and conduct pre-operational surgical services and provide surgical care to patients.

The Toyota Davao City Incorporated on the other hand, will renovate the  rooms for DCPO at its own expense from masonry to full furnishing of the space identified and intended for DCPO ward subject to the specification of the SPMC.

“Ako, bilang city director ng Davao Police Office,  Naga padangat ko ug dakong pasalamat sa atong mga president ng Toyota Davao Franchise na si  Boyet Li, sa president ng Southern Philippines Medical Center na si Dr. Vega and the head of the surgical department of SPMC na si Dr. Maruya,” he said during an interview at DCPO on June 5, Tuesday.

He said that the MOA signing was made possible by their generosity.

Only active members of DCPO are eligible for admission to the DCPO Ward subject to the availability of bed. The same is limited only to stable surgical patient, not requiring Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where hospital expenses will be covered by Philhealth. However, immediate members of the family of DCPO police are not covered by this agreement.

Thank you very much SPMC and Toyota Davao City, Inc for this one of a kind privilege, Tagum said.

Tagum said that in line with this, the police officers of Davao City are assured that at any time they have rooms available in SPMC.

He said that the police officers who will be wounded in duty that will need surgeries will be given a world class service by the surgical team of SPMC.

He said that the men and women in uniform will be more motivated and be more inspired in doing their duties because of the support given by the community particularly the business sector and medical sector.
