The Supreme Court of the Philippines has appointed a seasoned judge in Davao City as new deputy court administrator (DCA) for Mindanao. He is Leo Tolentino Madrazo who reported for work for the first time last Monday in Cagayan de Oro City.
As DCA for Mindanao, Justice Madrazo will take care and supervise the courts, judges and personnel of Mindanao. He will have the rank and privileges of a justice of the Court of Appeals.
A native of Davao City, Madrazo is a multiversity (multiple university) graduate having attended the San Beda college of law, Ateneo de Davao University and Manuel L. Quezon University (MLQU).
He was a prosecutor for 13 years in Davao City, Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) judge for eight years and was presiding judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 11 in Davao City when appointed as DCA.
Madrazo belongs to a family of lawyers and judges. His father and uncle are veteran private law practitioners, while two cousins are RTC judges. His grandfather on the mother’s side was also an old-time court employee. AMA
