The Indonesian government has stressed that its presence in the country goes beyond mere prioritising inbound investments but also places a great emphasis on Indonesians expanding their businesses in host countries like the Philippines.

The seminar highlighted Indonesia’s booming economic potential and the upcoming Trade Expo Indonesia 2019 on October 16-20, 2019 at Taggerang, Indonesia.
Consul General Dicky Fabrian said the event offers bountiful opportunities for the Philippine market and vice versa.
Trade Expo Indonesia 2019 highlights numerous products ranging from manufacturing, strategic industry, creative products and services, furniture, food and beverage, crafts and lifestyle and local champion products.
“Both Indonesia and the Philippines exhibit a unique Asian trait when it comes to business,” Fabrian said.
According to a data presented during the seminar, the economic relations between Indonesia and Philippines is expected to flourish with a projected Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 5.2% in 2019 for Indonesia and 6.5% for the Philippines.
With these promising numbers and concurrent efforts undertaken by both governments, Fabrian is positive of the potentials for trade opportunities and partnerships.
“Foreign businesses that come to Indonesia with a clear vision have a higher chance of blending in and forging a stronger ties with the Indonesian business community,” Fabrian said.
Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) president Arturo Milan, who was present during the seminar, encouraged the revival of the Davao-Manado flight. Milan believes this will cut the travel time and expenses on the part of business executives bringing their products and services to Indonesia.
Along with Fabrian and Milan were Davao City Investment and Promotion Center (DCIPC) chief April Marie Dayap, Consul for Information, Socio-Culture Affairs Endah R. Yuliarti, Universal Islamic Center president Malou Ampuan, Vice Consul for Economic Affairs Ely Syafitri Handayani and Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board director of Foreign Investments Corporation BPK. Fajar Usman.
Handayani and Usman also shared their expertise on the matter.
In the 2019 World Bank’s report on Ease in Doing Business, Indonesia ranked 73rd among 190 countries in the world.
