The provincial government of Davao del Sur has recently extended financial assistance amounting to P600,000 to two barangays in the province, in its continuing efforts to provide aid for the barangay’s frontline workers.
The officials of Barangay Bagumbayan in the municipality of Malalag have received on Monday (May 3), financial assistance worth P300,000.00.
The assistance is intended to be used as incentives for the barangay frontline workers and functionaries, and for the purchase of medicines.
Another P300,000-worth of cash assistance has been extended to Barangay Langa-an in Matanao town, for the purchase of food supplies for the barangay’s frontliners.
Governor Douglas Cagas and Vice Governor Marc Cagas have led the turnover ceremony of checks to the recipient barangays during the LGU’s Monday Convocation at the capitol grounds in Digos City.
The assistance was provided through the General Fund Financial Assistance to LGUs in the CY 2021 Annual Investment Program-Local Government Development Fund (AIP-LGDF).
Meanwhile, the Ramon Magsaysay Central Elementary School (RMCES) in Digos City was a recent recipient of a feeding center project which was also funded by the provincial government.
Cagas has turned over the completed project worth P490,000 to the school’s principal and to the teachers.
In the turn-over rites on April 30, 2021, Cagas has emphasized the importance of providing projects which are really needed by the school.
School Principal Mario Andales expressed his appreciation to the provincial government for realizing the need of a feeding center which is very beneficial for the students when the face-to-face classes will resume. (PIA-XI/Carina L. Cayon/PIO DavSur)
