DILG-Davao Occidental extends ECLIP financial assistance to 8 former rebels

Some eight (8) former rebels in Davao Occidental recently received financial assistance worth P65,000.00 each from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Davao Occidental.

The financial assistance consisted of the immediate assistance worth P15,000.00 and livelihood assistance amounting to P50,000.00, which are part of DILG’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

“Salamat kaayo gob. Kani nga tabang ninyo dako kaayo og tabang sa amoang pagsugod. Akoa ning i-negosyo… Tarongon ko ni para sa kaugmaon sa akoang pamilya (Thank you very much gov. This assistance is a very big help for us to start anew. I will use this properly for the future of my family),” former rebel alias “Jenny” expressed her gratitude to Governor Claude Bautista.

According to DILG Davao Occidental, the eight former rebels were the ones who completed first the requirements and documentations for them to be qualified of the ECLIP financial assistance.

There are still other former rebels awaiting for the approval of their qualifications to receive the same assistance.

The DILG Davao Occidental and the provincial government spearheaded the turn-over of the financial assistance during the joint meeting of the Provincial Development Council (PDC), Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), and the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19-Special Action and Crisis Management Committee (PIATF-SACMC). (PIA-XI/Carina L.
