Senior citizen employees of the national government agencies (NGAs) received Sinovac vaccines administered by the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) during the start of the Covid-19 inoculation for the senior citizens on Tuesday.

Dr. Ricardo B. Audan, OIC medical center chief of SPMC, told Edge Davao these senior employees who received the vaccine include officials of the National Economic and Development Authority 11 (NEDA 11), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)-Davao, and the regional office of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT 11).

A one-day activity only, Audan said SPMC is targeting to immunize 183 senior citizen employees of NGAs.  The senior citizens were pre-masterlisted through the DICT template.

“We are going smoothly so far. Pag 30 minutes wala silay’ adverse reaction gipapauli namo but still instructed them just in case naa (adverse effect) mutawag. Naa mi gihatag nga number sa ilaha,” he said.

Audan said SPMC is expected to start vaccination of the senior citizens (Priority A2) this coming Friday.

“Wala pay’ advisory kung kanus-a but most probably this Friday mi mag-start for the senior citizens,” he said.

He also said that SPMC is already prepared to host the inoculation of the senior citizens and other vulnerable groups.

“Ready naman gyud ang SPMC ever since kay we practiced and we also anticipated mga different ages for this and seniors sa pag study sa ilaha kung unsa ang among buhaton basta ang importante naa’y clearance. Naa man ta 5 stations and they have to be cleared at the 3rd station kay mao man na ang screening. Kung dili sila makapasar ma-defer sila,” Audan said.

As of this writing, none of the senior citizen NGA employees was deferred.
Meanwhile, the city government of Davao also conducted a scheduled vaccination activity for the senior citizens at SM Lanang Premier and Matina Aplaya Elementary School.

Davao City Health Office (CHO) acting head Dr. Ashley Lopez said these senior citizens received Sinovac vaccine also.

He also said the list of the vaccinees will be based on the registration from the District Health Centers.
