Digos City Mayor Josef Cagas bared that the city government of Digos will strictly implement granular lockdowns in affected barangays in the coming days following the surge of Covid-19 cases in the city.
Based on the update of Digos City’s Health office, the Covid-19 cases as of 7 p.m. of August 29, 2021, show there are 22 new confirmed cases, two new deaths, and 34 new recoveries.
The cases per barangay currently admitted: Aplaya – 3; Cogon – 2; Dawis – 1; Kiagot – 1; Matti – 1; San Agustin – 2; San Jose – 1; San Miguel – 5; Tres de Mayo – 1; Zone 1 – 1; Zone 2 – 2; and Zone 3 – 2.
There were also three cases of Delta variant detected from Digos City. Based on the report of the Department of Health-Davao, an 83-year-old male was swabbed on July 24, 2021 at Davao One World Diagnostic Center Incorporated; a 64-year-old female was swabbed on July 26, 2021 at SPMC-SNL-MBL; and a 33-year-old male who was swabbed on July 26, 2021 at SPMC-SNL-MBL and tested negative. The patient is now recovered.
Cagas has called on his constituents for solidarity in “rallying behind our government’s efforts of enforcing our health protocol’s,” as he confirmed the presence of three Delta variant cases in the city.
“Again, I would like to appeal for your help. We cannot, as a government, do this alone. But as a people, a united Digoseños strictly following the health protocols, we can overcome this pandemic,” Cagas said in his official statement posted on the City Government of Digos Facebook page.
