The City Economic Enterprise is optimistic that the city government of Davao will hit its target income of P197,725,000 for this year.
Davao City Economic Enterprise Officer-in-Charge Maximo P. Macalipes Jr. reported that as of July this year income generated is P102,018,000.
He told Edge Davao that CEE is now looking at ways to help achieve the target income.
“Ang atoang Malagos slaughterhouse, isalang na pud namo for approval ug i-open na para mag generate ta ug revenue. Makadugang man ni kung mag operate na. Nagsupplement man gihapon ang Toril slaughterhouse ug naga earn man gihapon. Sa sementeryo ongoing ang among proposal,” he said.
The City Economic Enterprise is managing the eight public markets in Davao City. The income was generated from the eight Public markets namely Agdao Public Market, Bankerohan Public Market, Bunawan Public Market, Calinan Public Market, Tugbok/Mintal Public Market, Lasang Public Market, and Tibungco Public Market.
As of July 2022, income generated from the eight public markets is at 62 percent amounting to P69,553,581.42 of the target income of P112,625,000.
For the public cemeteries namely Wireless, Calinan, Tugbok, Mintal, Toril, Panacan, Tibungco, Bunawan, Tagakpan, and Maa, as of July 2022 income generated from them is at 37 percent amounting to P11,604,001 of the target income of P31,200,000.
Income generated from the Davao City crematorium is P2,400,000 in the same period while from the slaughterhouses in Maa, Calinan, Toril, and Malagos, the income generated is P13,514,360.17 while the target is P45,100,000 (30 percent).
For the special projects in Claveria, Roxas Night Market, Rizal Massage Therapy, SP Concessionaire Building, and Ponciano Roxas stalls, income generated is P3,309,473.90 while income generated from the stalls in the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) is P2,155,347.43
For Magsaysay Park, the income generated is P286,857.17 while the target is P700,000 for this year.
The ongoing and implemented projects include the ongoing construction of the New Agdao Farmers’ Market, ongoing rehabilitation of the Tagakpan Public Cemetery, completion of the “AA” Malagos slaughterhouse with meat cutting and cold storage facilities and Halal slaughterhouse, ongoing construction of the 4-story multipurpose building that will soon house the MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, and events), and the completion of the columbarium at Wireless Public Cemetery and additional compartmentalized niches-all these are expected to spur the city’s revenue growth.
