The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc, (DCCCII) and the ICT Davao Inc. will spearhead Innovation Summit slated on November 10 to 11, 2022 at Acacia Hotel Davao, aiming to position the Davao Region as a global hub for sourcing talents and ICT-related products and services.

The activity will feature 30 world-class speakers that will share their views concerning disruptive and next-generation technologies, innovation in outsourcing services, innovator pitches, innovation in Q-commerce and financial technology, and innovations in sustainable IT.

“The summit will feature different segments and one of them is disruptive and next generation technology being offered by partners abroad that are already used in the Philippines. Another one is the innovation and sustainable IT because of the call of the national government and local government units to do a massive digital transformation of their operations,” said lawyer Samuel R. Matunog, chairperson for Innovation Summit 2022 and president of ICT Davao, during Wednesdays at Habi at Kape media forum.

The summit will also highlight a pre-event Job and Training Fair, which will be conducted on November 8, 2022, at the activity area of NCCC Buhangin. Three thousand potential job seekers with over 30 participating IT-BPO companies are expected to participate in the said job fair.

“There will be a job fair because there is so much demand for work in the industry and we believe that ICT-related job is a poverty alleviation activity. Ang ating poverty threshold in Mindanao is about P11,000 for a family of five and every person we employ in the ICT industry usually received a minimum of about P12,000 to P15,000 entry-level salary, so every person we employ in the ICT industry brings his family out of the poverty threshold,” Matunog said.

Meanwhile, about 400 on-site participants from the various sectors comprising senior government officials, top-level executives, renowned academics, BIMP-EAGA sectoral delegates, and business councils are expected to participate in the two-day hybrid event.

There will be 21 exhibitors and sponsors to network directly with the delegates and showcase their products and services both on a digital platform and physical setup.
