The head of the Vaccination Cluster of the city government of Davao announced that services will end in January next year and vaccination of Covid-19 will be accessed through district health offices.

It is expected that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will lift the country’s State of Emergency status in January 2023.

Dr. Josephine Villafuerte, head of the Davao City Covid-19 Vaccination Program, announced that currently vaccination continues at the district health offices and the People’s Park even on weekends until December 18, 2022, and will stop and will resume in January next year at the district health offices.

“Continue ang vaccination sa district health offices. Wala ta nag-undang padayon ta ug ang Saturday and Sunday gi-extend nato sa People’s Park through the Philippine Red Cross kasi naa man dili muadto kay naay trabaho. Hangtod December 18 na lang tapos magpahulay and will continue in January next year. Ang vaccination by January tua na gyud sa distrito kay mag-endorse na kay basin mag declare nata ug end of state of emergency, so ang vaccination cluster mag- end na pud siya pero magpadayon gihapon kay na endorse na sa district. Sa January wala na’y vaccination cluster,” Villafuerte said over Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR) on Friday.

However, she said vaccination in health offices will not be done every day but will be done on special days.

“Unlike karon na adlaw adlaw kung naay mu request adtuan dayon. Dili man na puwede idungan sa regular vaccination sa mga bata,” she said.

Meanwhile, she reported that the vaccination cluster was not able to reach its target in the recent three-day “Bakunahang Bayan” as there were only few Dabawenyos participated in the activity.

The City Health Office (CHO), in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH), launched the three-day Bakunahang Bayan at the Tomas Claudio Health Center on December 5, 2022.

Villafuerte, DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire, DOH Undersecretary Dr. Abdullah Dumama, DOH Regional Director Annabelle Yumang, and CHO health care workers joined the ceremonial vaccination in line with the Bakunahang Bayan event at the same health center.
