DavOcc town to soon benefit from Super Health Center

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go has led over the weekend the groundbreaking ceremony of the Super Health Center project to be established in Don Marcelino town in Davao Occidental.

The project in Don Marcelino is among the Super Health Centers in the country which were approved through Senate Bill No. 304 of the 19th Congress.

The centers aimed at providing medical access to far-flung barangays and other municipalities and cities, and at delivering services such as laboratory, birthing facility, pharmacy, outpatient department, dental services, comprehensive PhilHealth out-patient services, and among others.

In his message, Sen. Go emphasized on the importance of the Super Health Care Centers in extending services to the people, most especially in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs).

“Maningkamot mi’g hatag og serbisyo sa inyo, kay kami nagatuo nga ang serbisyo sa katawhan, serbisyo kana sa Ginoo (We are doing our best to provide you services, because we believe that serving the people is also serving the Almighty),” stated the Senator who was with Vice-Governor Lorna Bautista Bandigan and other local chief executives during the groundbreaking rites.

Meanwhile, Sen. Go also distributed relief goods, food packs, face masks, vitamins and clothes to 500 beneficiaries in Don Marcelino.

Some of the residents also received bicycles, watch, mobile phones and caps from the Senator.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development in the region also distributed financial assistance to the beneficiaries. (PIA-XI/Franchette Delfin)
