VP Sara visits Davao schools in ‘Brigada Eskwela’ activity

Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte wants all public schools clean, orderly, and functional in time for the start of classes.

The vice president made the school rounds as she led the school season starter activity “Brigada Eskwela” in Davao City on Wednesday.

This is in support of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) in Brigada Eskwela 2023 of the Department of Education (DepEd) to prepare schools for the reopening of classes.

The vice president attended the activities in selected public schools in Davao City’s Brgy. Tapak, Brgy. Gumitan, and Brgy. Dominga. On Tuesday, she also went to the Vicente Duterte High School.

In an interview with the media, she emphasized DepEd’s goal to have schools that are clean, orderly, and functional.

“Nananawagan rin ako sa Bayanihan spirit ng mga Pilipino para tumulong sa paghahanda ng ating mga paaralan sa nalalapit na pasukan,” she said.

Duterte, together with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., kicked off on Monday the first day of Brigada Eskwela at the V. Mapa High School in San Miguel, Manila.

Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide school program that aims to prepare schools for returning learners. It engages all education stakeholders to share their time, effort, and resources.
