Food poisoning downs 11 in Marilog District

Eleven persons were reported to have been hit by food poisoning in Sitio Matigsalog, Brgy Marilog, Marilog District, Davao City on Monday evening.

According to the Marilog Police Station (PS 12 Marilog), three individuals were already treated in Kibalang District Hospital and eight were taken to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) wherein two of them were already discharged from the hospital Tuesday morning.

Another three food poisoning patients identified as JP Palao Antogon; Axel Palao Jhon Dalac; and Norbert Palao Misa were reportedly discharged from Kibalang District Hospital around 2: 30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Based on the report of the Marilog Police Station, a certain Evangeline Palao, a caretaker, alleged that her employer, Geraldina Bocuya, from Deca Homes Mintal, Davao City visited their place and cooked spaghetti at noon on Monday, which was consumed by the victims.

She said after a few hours the victims started vomiting.

Marilog Police Station said it will conduct an investigation as to whether it was the spaghetti or the water from the spring that they drank that caused the poisoning. Jhon Dalac; and Norbert Palao Misa were reportedly discharged from Kibalang District Hospital around 2: 30 p.m. on Tuesday.
