Rep. Pulong enters ‘Magic 12’ in senatorial bets for 2025 polls

If the election is held today, Davao City First District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte is among the senatorial contenders that people will vote for, according to Pulse Asia’s latest survey.

Based on the 2025 Elections: Senatorial Preferences of the Pulse Asia survey conducted on September 10 to 14, 2023, Rep. Duterte garnered a voting preference rating of 27.5 percent and ranked 8th to 14th among potential senatorial candidates in the upcoming 2025 mid-term elections.

Apart from Rep. Duterte, other Dabawenyo senatorial bets who made it to the “Magic 12” are Senators Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go and Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa with 46.4 percent and 42.5 percent respectively.

Topping the bets for the senatorial race is ACT-CIS Party-list Representative Erwin Tulfo with a voter preference rating of 68.9 percent.

Following Tulfo is former Senate President Vicente Sotto III ranking between 2nd and 3rd place, with a voter preference rating of 52% followed by former senator Panfilo Lacson, ranked between 5th and 7th place, while former senator Manny Pacquiao settled for 7th to 13th place.

Senator Lito Lapid ranked 9th to 17th and former senator Gringo Honasan ranked 11th to 22nd place.

Other strong contenders are Senators Imee Marcos garnering 34.5 percent, Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. with 25.2 percent, and Pia Cayetano with 29.4 percent.
