A 41-year-old man was shot fatally outside his residence at Davao Executive Homes in Matina, Davao City on Thursday.
The victim was identified as Aurel Joy Baucan, a native of Poblacion Caraga, Davao Oriental and a transient resident of No. 53 Rolls Royce Street of the said subdivision.
Based on the statement of Proserfina Pichon Perez, grandmother of the victim, Baucan told her he was going out to buy cigarette at a nearby store. She said she went out of the house when she heard a gunfire and saw the victim lying on the road.
The suspect, Budz Derek Keesey Dela Cruz, 40-year-old and a resident of the said subdivision, voluntarily surrendered to the responding authorities.
According to the investigation conducted by the operatives of Ecoland Police Station, Dela Cruz previously engaged in a heated argument with Baucan after the former accused the victim of secretly taking pictures of him.
Bai Linang Agar-Dela Cruz, wife of the suspect, voluntarily surrendered to the operatives of Ecoland Police Station the gun that was allegedly used by the suspect.
Responding Central 911 personnel declared the victim dead on the spot and the body was brought to Villa-Gan Funeral Parlor and is subject to an autopsy.
