The Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) is reintroducing the online booking service system of local bus companies.
DCOTT manager Aisa Usop said commuters can now book and buy tickets online to make their travel easier when they go home to their provinces to celebrate Christmas and New Year.
Usop added that this is one of the solutions to control the congestion of passengers at DCOTT.
The online booking service system at DCOTT was launched during Undas 2023 and Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election (BSKE) 2023.
“Because we are expecting the influx of passengers kay Pasko ug New Year, na-convince nato ang atoang mga bus operators to have an online booking. Tungod kay mao na ang isa sa nakita nako na solusyon sa kadugayon nato dinha sa DCOTT. Tungod aning online booking, ma control na nato ang kadaghanon sa pasahero nga mag istambay or ma delatar dinha sa sulod sa terminal because they have their tickets na. Pareho sa eroplano nga naa nay seat number, bus number, unsang orasa imong trip,” Usop said during the AFP PNP Press Corps media briefing at the Royal Mandaya Hotel on Wednesday.
She also added that booking for tickets can be avail via bus companies such as the Bachelor Express with routes from Davao City to Surigao, Ormoc, Leyte, Tacloban, and Bohol; Mindanao Star Bus with routes from Davao City to Cotabato City, Marbel, General Santos City, and Kidapawan; the Rural Transit with routes from Davao City to Cagayan de Oro; Philtranco with Davao-Pasay route; Davao Metro Shuttle Bus with routes to Pasay, Surigao, Tacloban, and Samar; the Yellow Bus Line with routes Tacurong via Makilala, Marbel, Maitum, Kiamba, and Isulan; and the ECF Bus Line with routes Don Marcelino and Malita in Davao Occidental.
DCOTT will also provide a separate lane for those who already have tickets.
“Para dili sila mabiyaan sa ilang bus kay dili na puwede gamiton sa laing bus ang ticket,” she said.
Usop said the online booking will prevent the same influx of passengers during the last Undas 2023 and BSKE 2023 on October 30, 2023, from happening again.
“Based on experience the last time atong Undas nga nasabay sa BSKE grabe ang influx of passengers diin wala na nako na implement ang policies specially for the PWDs, senior citizens and pregnant women tungod sa kadaghan sa pasahero,” she said.
