Vice President Sara Duterte shared achievements and accomplishments of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) since she took office in 2022.
OVP has implemented 10 programs and projects including the medical assistance program, burial assistance program, Mag Negosyo Ta ‘Day, Pagbabago: A Million Learners and Trees, PanSarap, Kalusugan Food Truck, Disaster Operations Center, Relief for Individuals in Crisis and Emergencies, You Can Be VP, and free ride.
The Central Office of OVP collaborated with 10 satellite offices and two extension offices. It first opened its satellite offices in 2022 in the cities of Bacolod, Cebu, Dagupan, Davao, Tacloban, Surigao, and Zamboanga.
It also opened the OVP Public Assistance Extension Office in Lipa, Batangas, and Tondo, Manila.
This year, it reopened three other satellite offices in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Isabela, and Bicol Region.
From July 2022 to October 2023, the OVP has provided medical assistance to 106,958 Filipinos amounting to more than P1.2 billion while under the burial assistance program, the OVP has helped 22,470 families amounting to P130.3 million.
For the free ride program, in Metro Manila, the vice president reported that her office has served 523,263 commuters through four buses: bus in Bacolod with 89,605 commuters; bus in Davao with over 60,409 commuters; and one bus in Cebu with more than 99,633 commuters.
“Sa panahon naman ng kalamidad at sakuna, lagi ring nakahanda ang Office of the Vice President na umalalay sa mga apektado nating kababayan sa pamamagitan ng ating Disaster Operations Center o DOC. Sa mga operasyon din ng DOC ay nagagamit natin ang ating Kalusugan Food Truck,” Duterte said.
The OVP has also conducted 162 relief operations and helped 115,045 families hit by disasters.
The OVP also distributed over 23,000 relief boxes, 11,600 food bags, and 438,180 other relief items through DOC.
These aids are equivalent to over P69.1 million.
“Para sa OVP, malayo man o mahirap ang daan, lagi naming pagsusumikapan na marating kayo lalo na sa panahong kailangan ninyo ang aming tulong. Masaya rin ako sa naging resulta ng ating PanSarap Program,” the vice president said.
Duterte said she was also happy with the results of her PanSarap Program.
She said before the end of the 120 days of its implementation, they see an immediate change in the weight of the learners who are its beneficiaries.
The program was first implemented at Tamugan Elementary School in Davao City with 733 learners and followed by 1,064 learners at Nuro Central Elementary School in Upi, Maguindanao.
The OVP used the Kalusugan Food Trucks to distribute buns.
It also launched the Relief for Individuals in Crisis and Emergency or Rice Program.
“Sa pamamagitan ng ating mga Satellite Office, nakapagbigay ang OVP ng 8,415 Rice boxes,” the vice president said.
The Mag-Negosyo Ta ‘Day Program is close to the heart of the vice president as she saw how it changed the lives of many Dabawenyas when she was mayor.
The OVP has opened Magnegosyo Ta ‘Day in different sectors.
There are four groups with a combined 25,765 members who received financial assistance from the said program.
Each of them was given P150,000 capital.
To ensure that the beneficiaries succeed in their project, the OVP also provided them with financial literacy training.
Meanwhile, through the Pagbabago: A Million Learners and Trees Campaign, the OVP distributed backpacks with school supplies and dental kits.
The said program aims to raise awareness among young people on the importance of education, dental health, and environmental protection.
It is targeting to provide one million backpacks and plant one million trees throughout the Philippines before the end of 2028.
To date, OVP has distributed 64,860 bags and planted 178,167 trees.
The You Can Be VP Program aims to provide a beautiful and meaningful experience to its participants.
They will be part of the vice president’s official trip abroad to learn and experience the work of a national leader.
Duterte said the OVP, as the second highest office in the country, recognizes the value of establishing partnerships between the public and private sectors.
It has established more than 749 Partnerships and currently, has 30 international engagements and 596 local engagements.
“Sa inyo nanggagaling ang aming lakas, ang aming katatagan, at ng aming tapang na harapin ang mga hamon na mabigyan kayo ng mahusay at makabuluhang serbisyo. Mga kababayan, ang tagumpay ng Office of the Vice President ay tagumpay ng bawat Pilipino. Kayo ang aming inspirasyon upang patuloy na maging mabuti at epektibong lingkod bayan,” the vice president said.
